Anyone else starting bootcamp on or around 7/30?

My son Brandon left for bootcamp yesterday 7/30.
Wondering if anyone else is just getting started on this adventure!

Hi Ron. My sailor Blain left from Rogers, AR. on 07/27 and arrived at RTC Great Lakes on 07/28. No phone call but what guys have said not unusual. We received our "Kid in a box" package without clothes in it so that made us wonder. Blain is in Div 329, do you have Brandon's address yet? We have not received a letter yet but now that we have Blain's address we can send all the letters we have written (8) at once. I was told a day without mail is a dark night for them so we write one (each-mom and dad) every day, even if is just a quick note to tell him about our day. This is an adventure sharing this time with our son. Initially it was very hard to let go but as time has went on (right, five days) my focus has changed. I still miss him but now am looking at it from his point of view. Seeing the world while gaining some very valuable skills and growing up at the same time. A very good job in bad economic times is a good deal. It has become a very exciting time for our family and we are planning our trip to PIR in September. Anything else let me know. I have had a look of help from dads on this site so use it alot.
Yeah, I got on here when Brandon entered DEP last July and learned alot. This site was still in its infancy then. At that time I found alot more info on navyformoms.com. EG and the crew have done a wonderful job with this site since then. I haven't been on much for the last 6 months or so and it's grown drastically since then.

I don't know Brandons division yet. He just arrived at RTC Thursday night. Got a text from him around 9:30 that said "Just flew over Wrigley Field....It's Sweet". That was the last I heard from him. lol
Yes, my son shipped the same day. His box arrived this morning!
