Hello Mom n Dad Im here
We got the phone call last night from Jerry. About 10:30 pm the phone rang, it was Jerry it was short and sweet " Hello I love you I'm here at RTC I'm shipping my crap home in a box. I will write you with my info in a few days, Love you both I gotta go bye" We decided the best route to go was to buy him a cheap disposable cell phone with $25.00 on it so if it was lost in shipping no big deal. Well I checked the phone record this morning 290 text messages at .08 cents a piece comes out to $23.38, hence the short and sweet phone call home. Yes quite a few were to mom, big sister and cousin in "A school" can not fault him for that. I asked recruiter and several other folks prior to him leaving if he would need a long distance phone card for midway call home and was told no. well one of those text was to let us know he was told at MEPPs to purchase one. So $12.00 Phone card at Walmart cost him $35.00 at the airport! SO BUY THEM A LONG DISTANCE PHONE CARD BEFORE THEY SHIP OUT!

The short & sweet call is scripted for all the SR's. He had someone standing over him telling him to move on...LOL! Please see the Call For Recruits advertisement to the right of this page....Free cards for your SR.....!

Yea i got the same short phone call as well when my son called lasted i think 3 seconds. recruiter said same thing he did not need a phone card and that anything sent with him would be shipped back. The letter you get is also scripted and you should have got it by now
