San Deigo travel advice

Hey, Guys. Been out of pocket for awhile, but need a little help again! My son is MA assigned to San Diego. Planning to visit later in the year. Can anybody recommend a decent hotel somewhere near the base(s)? Useless to do a general look up through expedia or travelocity unless you at least have a neighborhood/area name. Thanks!

We stayed at the Navy Lodge Coronado. Grandson got us a pass for the car and could enter and leave anytime we wanted. It was also across the street form NSW where he was training. Price was right, room were good and we were awaken each morning by Reveille and the National Anthem over the speaker system. We will be staying there for Graduation in a couple of months.

For the money Navy lodge system is the best bet.

Approximate POV travel times from hotels downtown to/from 32nd St. NAVSTA = 5 min. also easy trolley travel.

Approximate POV travel times from hotels in Old Town, Mission Valley, Sports Arena, Liberty Station or Rosecrans to/from 32nd St. NAVSTA = 10 min.

Approximate POV travel times from most Chula Vista Hotels/Motels will also be about 10 mins to/from NAVSTA.

Approximate POV travel times from most La Jolla Hotels will also be about 30 mins to/from NAVSTA.

Chat on Navy Dads

The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it.
