My son Ryan is going to be a Sonor Technician.

Hey Dave, We got the form letter last week with a note on the back from Matt and his address was Ship 07 DIV 079/080. Don't know what that really means but it was good to hear from him. Hope all is going well with your SR. Tim

It means they are in the same Company and going through Boot Camp together. I am retired Navy and went to Great Lakes a long time ago! :0
They still graduate in the same building but almost every other building is new!
We are in Virginia and hope to get up there for Graduation.

We are in Florida and are planning a trip to see Matt graduate for the March 2nd ceremony. He'll be going to A school in Pensacola, FL so hopefully we will be able to see him from time to time and transition slowly into all of this. This is our first experience with the military so everything is completely foriegn to us. Can't wait to get the next letter or call from him.

Looking forward to Graduation. I went through in GLAKES 1978 and his Grandfather went through basic in 1953 in Bainbridge MD!! Ryan is third generation Navy.

Just talked to Ryan on the phone, he is hanging in there! Said Matt is in the bunk right next to him!!
I head out to Pensacola in the morning to inspect a new construction in an Alabama Shipyard.

Hey Dave,
We got a call from Matt today too. So good to hear from him! He sounded in good spirits and like himself! Making jokes about getting in trouble for EVERYTHING! Glad you heard from Ryan. I asked Matt if he was making any buddies and said they were all getting along great. Can't wait for 3/2.

Chat on Navy Dads
The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it. The chat will also make a two note sound when someone posts a comment so you know when the chat is active.…
