No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019

Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny

Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.

Important RTC/PIR Changes

RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

This was well received when I sent this to my son in bootcamp...lotsa fun.

They CANNOT HAVE CANDY...so, I put a bunch of packages of his favorite candies on my scanner and draped a dark cloth over them...I would use this picture as stationery to write him lettters from home.

Have fun with it!

Mark...it is great that your boss and coworkers understood. I work with people like that too. It sure makes it easier to not have to worry about our jobs while trying to get our kids off on their own paths!

Congrats to all whose kids just passed BattleStations! They are sailors now!

OK, now I get to work this morning, and tell my boss what has happened, and he just looked straight faced, and said, "Well you will be taking off tomorrow to take him back up to Cleveland."

I just have to say I work with the best people around.
It's nice to know that I have the support of everyone at work.

That's what the recruiter said. He was pretty peeved.
Now Zach has to go back up, but they are sending him to Chicago on a military flight.
