No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny
Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.
RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

so whats the first week of bootcamp like? I know its p-week but I just would like to know a little more
Hi all... Just wanted to let you all know about a great program for Recruits. CallsforRecruits.org has FREE phone cards for recruits in bootcamp. If you or someone you know is leaving soon for bootcamp, go to the website and get some phone cards for them to use while they are at BC. They can use them at A school or anytime if they need them, although most people have cell phones these days LOL. Just thought I would pass along the info....
Any one know if Ship 02 Div 921 finished their BS21 yet? Their PIR is on 4/6.
Looking for information from anyone attending the March 30 PIR. With the 14 divisions, were there any extra guests left out without a seat? I have 4 extras to get seated on 4/13 which has 10 divisions. I would also be interested in hearing from people with prior PIR dates, how many divisions, and were there extras left without seats.
Congrats Mark.... My son is graduating the next week (4/13)... Looking forward to the call next week......
I haven't commented in a while, but I wanted to share that my son just called to say he completed Battle Stations 21 today. He was proud and tired. We are looking forward to seeing him at his PIR next Friday. I want to thank the people in this forum for all the information provided.
