Navy Dads

Just joining in the thread. My son started 15 Feb, believe from some earlier posts it is Class 14-10. Other than quick phone call second night, haven't heard anything. No news is good news, I hope.

My son also started February 15. Got our first call last Sunday. Lasted only couple of minutes. Did receive one letter a couple of days ago. said it was a lot harder than he thought, but said he felt good he would not quit.
I just found this site. My Son, Chris is in Navy OCS Class 14-10 and also started on Feb. 14. He has just completed his fourth week (the toughest with RLP on Thursday). His Class is Charlie and he is a SWO candidate. We just had our first phone call last night and he let us know that he passed inspection on the first try (one of only 7 out of 46 in his class). They all pulled together and of the remaining 39 all but 4 passed. These 4 were rolled into H-class and they will join Class 15-10 probably this Wednesday. My Wife and I are part of a Facebook Support group for Class 14-10 that is fantastic. When someone receives a letter they share with the others. Anyone on this site who has a Son or Daughter in this class should join this group.
Your lucky my son also passed on first RLP . He is charge of the HI MOMS party with 3 others My name is Paul Herrick my son is Jonathan. Can you give me info on facebook site
Hi Paul...
this is Helene, Steve's wife. We have a very active group on facebook, and are eagerly awaiting your arrival! My son, Chris, is also on HiMoms, so they are together on that. Zsazsa, one of our members, is the fiancee of Evan, who is your son's hatchmate. She is looking for a way to connect with Jonathan's wife!

Get on facebook and in the search bar type:
OCS class 14-10 families and friends

and you will find us. You'll have to ask for permission to join, and then either Jasmine or Isaac will approve you!

see you over there!

Any other 14-10 dads here? Come on over to facebook!!

Just received a letter from my son. Appears things are going well... he says the company is demoralized and depressed, from what he is told... about normal for this part of indoc. His biggest complaint is eating by the numbers, coming away from meals still hungry, and how difficult eating chesseburgers with a soup spoon is:)

He said that indoc should end sunday and they will be into academic phase ( and have salad bar priviledges, eat with a fork and get to drink coffee). The last hurdle is a physical and mental evolution later this week, forgot what he called it.

Matt also said it was harder than he expected, but would see it through to the end.
