but always remember, posting port dates or too many details about upcoming events can pose a security risk....so use good judgment about what you post here!

Questions on what to bring and not bring on a tiger cruise. U S S Ronald Reagan, 6 day tiger cruise. Take throw away underwear, socks. Take comfortable shoes and use denim pants over, maybe 2 pair is all. comfortable shirts but you can buy tiger shirts and the like on board. snacks that don't melt. Ipods loaded with music and movies for the down time. Here's a great exercize...when at chow, reguardless of time, sit across from someone different, get to know them and where they work and time they work and then, next day, go visit and get a tour from the sailor. ask questions! We met and visited young people who don't have Tigers and it made their spirits higher. tours are good, but explore on your own and don't be afraid of ranks. Go to the top! close the hatch behind ya!

Can't wait til we hear from him so we can have our dates planned. Thanks to all who have been on a cruise before for what to bring. So glad when we get to see our son. And to all fathers of sons and daughters who servre our country, Thank-you.

Raul...I know it's a pain, but spend some time with the old posts as there are tons of suggestions. You'll wear less clothing than you think...be comfy!! I only took 574 photos (literally...), I wish I had taken twice that!! Take Flip-Flops for sure!!!!!!!!!!

Razor, toothbrush/paste, soap, shampoo, the usual basics plus shower shoes (flip-flops).

Clothing --- sturdy shoes (not sandals), blue jean style stuff, a hoody or sweat shirt or light windbreaker. Nothing fancy, just serviceable clothing.

And yes, you MUST bring a camera!

I am planning on going on the Tiger Cruise on the USS Eisenhower. Any suggestions as far as clothing and hygiene products. Can we have cameras?

yeah....didn't need much on the flight deck, but we waited in the sun at Mayport for about 4 hours to board....was kinda a crispy critter when I finally crossed the brow into the hanger deck......and I cannot emphasize enough...shower sandals or flip-flops!!!!!!! Thought I'd fit right in as I found some Budweiser flip-flops at Walmart....seems the sailors, at least those of drinking-age, identify pretty well with beer!!
