Praying for the safety of the pilots involved today.  I know stuff like this can happen but boy is it scary to hear our ship named in the news.

Hi Byron

I'm sure the transit time will vary with location and logistics, but it looks like we got a nice break.
There's nothing wrong with your grandson showing good will by giving stuff away. Derek does it too.
I read their captain's FB post about their recent maneuvers near Hawaii. It looks like they took on fresh fruit and aviation fuel, without even a glimpse of a grass skirt.

Another helpfull thing to know, I keep 3" think note book's on my big guy,I have every letter email and Facebook message's in them. I have four of these all ready full. I also have picture on file's in my computer, probably 2 to 3 thousand of them. They are my pride and joy, and I'm sure when I'm gone they will be part of Tyler's pride and joy. I never get bored,I read them and look at them all the time and never do I get bored. It's a lot of work but well worth the time and energy,at least for me. I am so glad I'm not kicking my self in the but for not thinking of it,lol.

Peter I had a long explanation about typed up for you and it all just jumped up and went some where before I was thru. This time I'll do a short version, lol. They deployed Nov. 30th and they were in Hong Kong, China by Christmas. That's the short version, lol. They had a lot of good time's and a few scary moments. I could right you a book but I don't trust computer's that well. I would assume every deployeement is a little different. Probably the place some of the same. You usually don't know until after the fact and they are on the move again. that's the navy keep every one guessing, which is best for everyone.

It's not a straight line journey as they do a ton of training and quals on the way.....

How long  does it take to get from San Diego to the Middle East? I understand this is where they are heading  to.
