Welcome Michael. My son has been on the GW since Dec 2009. Hope your son enjoys his duty on the GW and life in Japan.
My son just joined the GW in mid Dec of 2011. he is a GM.
still waiting for him to send his address. lol
but have been able to e-mail and talk on the cell phone every once in a while.
Great news on both counts, Joe! Congratulations to you and your daughter!
Got word the other day that our sailor, Suzanne, was promoted to AT3. BZ! On top of that she has tickets to fly home for a visit in mid-January. It will be about 22 months since we saw her last.
My sailor was sure disappointed to have to leave Singapore early to travel to Thailand for disaster relief, but understood they had a mission that took precedence. Only to arrive in Thailand and find out the Thai Gov't did not want their help. How disappointing for all of the sailors on the GW.
Thanks for the well wishes, all! Aaron was able to fly home and spend almost two weeks with us as we held the Memorial Services for his Grandmother. It has been rough for him, but we did get to enjoy his presence and he provided a great deal of support for his Mom.
Our son finally got on board after being on base since early July waiting for the GW. We also finally got a mail address for him and he has a section and division ABH and is excited to be with the group which two of his buddies from boot camp were also assigned to. have been quietly following this group and the Japan group great information from both on events and updates along with issues families face when a family member becomes ill.
Hello
i talked on skype this morning with my son Eric. It was good to see him again. He informed me that on aug 16th he made sailor of the day. i just heard about gw's facebook page the other day so I looked back to the 16th and there he was with his big grin on his face. needless to say we are very proud of him. he always was a good worker around the house so it did'nt really surprize me. he was on tad while they were out and he is looking forward to getting back to his squadron (hs-14).
Rich
