    Jim, Welcome Aboard!

When my son first enlisted in the Navy I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to his future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads but found out I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and hope this site will benefit fathers that follow behind us. So jump right in, share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Jonathan for his service for me and thanks again for joining us.

    Sincerely, E.G.

Jim thanks for the email about your son Jonathan. I finally got a letter from my son Blake today and kind of said the same thing as your son and his letter was written on Sunday March 20th and he said they just got don with processing in and ready to start the real bootcamp that next day on Monday the 21st. He talked about how they had RDC's and said that a couple of them were ok but one of them always yelled and cussed a lot but he was getting used it there. He said they get up at 6:00 every day and go to bed at 10:00 every night and they do get to go to church on Sunday's and that the whole experience is not that bad. My son Blake had 4 years of the Navy Sea Cadets program and also 4 years of Air Force ROTC at his high school here in Oklahoma and went to boot camp with the Sea Cadets at Roswell New Mexico back a few years ago so I think he understands everything they are going through and when he gets out of boot camp he will already be an E3 because of all his ROTC. He said that they have lost a few people from their division for either medical and one guy got kicked out for disciplinary reasons. Hopefully we can meet up at the PIR and graduation. .. While I am typing this message to you my son just called me from bootcamp and he said that he has met your son Jonathan and that he is really starting to like it there and it's getting easier every day. He could only talk a few minutes but he sounded good and I told him how proud we are of him. Thanks, Eric
