Great info guys.
The wife and I are heading that way late April so now we are thinking of staying at the lodge. Did you have to pay online or just reserve online?

Got the reservations taken care of and T has stopped in at the Lodge to confirm he is really on base. He did not have to pay for the room, just had to show his ID and confirm he is really there. Thanks for the help.

- I have been in the mortgage financing industry for over 16 years. Married with two children. Both now in their 20's. I was an athlete in college in both swimming and cross country. I enjoyed training with my son prior to him becomming a Rescue Swimmer in the Navy.

- What were your feelings when your Sailor joined the Navy:
- Proud of his maturity to change direction in his life and find something he could be passionate about. His choice to do a job as a Rescue Swimmer to help save those who risk their lives for us and our country is inspirational.

BTW Brad, Our oldest Grandson Noah who is 12 will be receiving his 2nd Class in Boy Scouts. He has already earned 3 merit badges too. Two months ago he was ordained to the office of Deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. He is also First Chair in Band, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble with his DBL French Horn. Last friday he tried out for and made All-County with his DBL french Horn. He is doing great in the 7th grade!!

Your welcome Brad! brooklyn said she didn't think she was going to make it this time around after she took her E-5 exam and said she wasn't worried about it either though that she would retake it next spring and sure she would pass then anyways. She thinks she will get her "NAM" first before she makes E-5. She also extended a year to stay with her squadron which will be leaving Japan next spring to transistion back to Whidbey Island, Washington. She is really looking forward to being back in the States for good. She has not liked having all her time in the Navy being in Japan only. She really wanted to be in Virginia beach or Italy and so now she is finally accepted and is adapting to Japanese Culture..LOL

Great news on Garretts Advancement! Brooklyn informed us she did not make E-5 this time around but she is not worried about it as she said she will just retake the exam next spring .

Rex said… - Brad thanks for the picture of a real hero ! My father in law is almost 84 too and still living. Delbert was in the south pacific in the Army fighting during the war. We can never get him to talk about it to this day, this is so sad because of the history that will be lost !
Our son will get all of his war memorabilia including the guns after his passing .

The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it. The chat will also make a two note sound when someone posts a comment so you know when the chat is active.…
