Roommate needed for Ballston Spa
My son is leaving Goose Creek Feb. 10th. and heading to Ballston Spa. He has yet to find a roommate. I've talked with Naval Support and availability is getting short and there doesn't seem to be too many one bedrooms available. I live in CT and will be about 2 1/2 hours away but I don't feel like hauling furniture up so we are looking for a furnished apartment. If anyone has a son on the same schedule that is also looking for a roommate please let me know.ThanksSee More

When my son first enlisted in the Navy I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to his future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads but found out I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and hope this site will benefit fathers that follow behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Matthew for his service for me and thanks again for joining us.

If you have any comments, questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...be sure to post them! I'm sure someone here can answer your questions or concerns or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors in the family - my son Eric (AM3) is stationed on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat (MC3) just completed her five-year enlistment on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Charles this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and be sure to let us know how Matthew is doing! We do ask that you remember that we talk about the Navy here and we must keep the security and safety of our sailors in mind at all times. As a parent of a sailor currently or soon to be at Great Lakes you'll have many questions about what your son is going through. In the Navy Bootcamp group is a discussion called A MUST READ for all New Navy Parents. Take a few minutes to read through this post as it will do a lot to give you some understanding about what your sailor is learning and why. And be sure to check out the videos as they address many of your questions and concerns.

I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. While Matthew is in Boot Camp at Great Lakes, I would suggest you join the Navy Boot Camp group.
I have one sailor in the family - my son Stephen is an AWO2. (Air warfare systems operator) He is a Petty Officer 2nd Class and flies in the P-3 Orion sub hunter. Currently he is with VP-45 in Jacksonville, FL. This is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Matthew is doing!

Chat on Navy Dads
The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it. The chat will also make a two note sound when someone posts a comment so you know when the chat is active.…
