Congrats on your son’s enlistment Wes!!  Now the fun part begins for you, “the waiting”. For the next few weeks is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions for you.  My daughter’s PIR is 12/17/10 and for the past 7 weeks I have laughed, cried, pray, worried like I never thought that I would for her.  But I’m telling you this; I don’t change these feelings for nothing else... I feel a lot closer to her and so proud of her.   Be patient, the letters from Jon will come and the phone calls too...not as many as you want to but they will come.  Remember, you’re not alone and we are her for you.  Take care!!  Gil

Welcome aboard Wes! I’m so glad that you’ve joined us. I can’t add very much to what Paul said, but wanted to pop in here and say hello. My son is an AW and flies with VP-45 on the P-3 Orion and is stationed in Jacksonville, FL. Be sure to join the groups that will follow what Jon is doing with the Navy. Chat on Navy Dads

The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it. The chat will also make a two note sound when someone posts a comment so you know when the chat is active.…
