Probably a good thing... the trial was scheduled for 12 days and last thru the end of April. We hired another person to work in the office, so it should mellow out somewhat for me now and hopefully won't be working as many hours as I have been.
Drop me a note whenever you have time. Billy is doing well and staying very busy. He doesn't know when he'll be able to make his next trip home. Hopefully he can come for a few days this summer.
Miss you too!!

Hey, sorry it's taken me a couple of days to get back to you. I've been running in circles this week. But, I'm sleeping better at night now and my stomach has finally settled down. The weight loss has been nice and I'm going to do my best to continue to drop some more pounds. I start the new job on Monday. The owners of this company are very nice and are interested in getting me involved in projects with other companies that they also own. This new employment has the potential to allow me the opportunity to have a great deal of progress and success within the company(s). My starting pay is descent and I will be given a $1+ per hr. increase in 30 days. Not too bad, huh? My current employer is going to keep me on the payroll part-time so I can come in on some weekends and occasional evenings to work for them when they need it. So, the extra money from that will go into my savings. I'm just so glad the stress of finding a job is over and I can focuse on other things now. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement thru all this : )
Billy completed his last C-School on Monday. He checked out and drove to his dads to spend a few days with him. They're on a camping trip in Tombstone now. Billy will drive up here on Sunday and is staying a week (I think). He as usual has lots of plans, so I don't anticipate seeing him much. And of course, I'll be working during the day. This will be his last trip home for awhile. He doesn't plan to come on Thanksgiving and will be spending Christmas with his dad since he spent last year's with me. If he gets an apartment before then, he was hoping his dad and step mom will drive to S.D. for the holiday. His step-mom's mother lives out there. I can't be selfish about the matter because I've got to see Billy several times in the last few months. Much more time than most Navy moms get, so I'm very grateful.
Also, I wanted to let you know that after today I may only have the chance to go on-line and check my emails a couple of times a week. I'm assuming my new job will have internet access, but I don't know yet what their personal use guidelines are. So, for now I will be stopping by the office here to do that. Please be patient with me if it takes a couple of days for me to get responses sent out.
I'd better go for now...I have lots to do today!
Have a wonderful weekend in Dallas and thank you for being such a great friend!

I hope Jason can make it home for Christmas and hopefully can bring Hannah with him. I'm sure you are very anxious to meet her. Billy's only got about a week left of his last C-School. He's taking several days of leave to come to AZ and then will return to S.D. and will most likely have to check into the temporary holding unit. His ship's return from deployment is going to be later than it was anticipated. If the deployment extension is long enough, they will consider flying Billy out to the ship for the remainder of the cruise.
Hope you have a nice weekend!!

Hey Christie, thanks for the message! I didn't notice until I came to your page that I never responed to your last message. I'm so sorry about that! I get so busy going back and forth between the two sites. A mom on N4M's asked me recently to take over as admin for a group she created. I'm not sure why I was the chosen one, but I accepted. It's a pretty active group, so I hope I can keep up with it.
I'm glad to hear that Jason got his apartment. I can only imagine how excited he is about it. Billy is chomping at the bit to get his own place, but he's got to wait until he gets to his ship and then can request to live off base. He's been looking and has picked out a couple of places he's interested in. Will Jason keep his apartment when he goes on deployment? Is he sharing the place with anybody? Billy has decided that he doesn't want to room with anyone. He likes the idea of having his own place and privacy. It will be good for me too cause I'll have a place to stay for free when I go out for a visit, lol.
Glad to know Jason and Hannah are still going strong. It must give you some comfort knowing that he is happy. Hope they both handle the separation alright when it's time for him to leave again. That's sort of the ultimate test in a military based relationship, isn't it?
Billy finishes school on Sept. 28th. He is suppose to report to his ship on Oct. 14th, if it's back from deployment by then. He doesn't want to hang around for those 2 weeks, so he's coming back to AZ and spending several days with his dad and several with me. After that he will have all his leave time pretty much used up. He's not concerned about it. He says once he reports to his ship, there won't be as much opportunity to come home. He was given a 4-day break from school for Labor Day weekend, so he drove home Thurs. night and went back around noon on Monday. Sept. 5th was his 20th birthday, so it was nice to have him home even though I barely saw him that day, lol.
You know it's funny... when a sailor's cover gets dirty, they just go buy a new one. They are all about convenience, lol. Have you ever heard of a product called Grease Lighting? It works great on alot of different things. Try using it to clean Vince's dixie cup.
Well, I better get busy. Have a nice rest of the week!

Christie, I'm so fortunate to have you as a friend!! It was very thoughtful of you to have the flowers delivered yesterday. You are so sweet to do that! You were definitely here in spirit and I thought of you and also bragged on you for sending the flowers. I put them on one of the tables for a centerpiece. The get together turned out great. 26 people in all attended!! We had a large variety of people with sailors at different stages in their Navy careers. And, a really good turnout of dads who came. Everyone seem to have a good time. I am exhausted!! Because I stayed real busy playing hostess, I didn't get much opportunity to visit with people, but really enjoyed the conversations that I did manage to get into. My friend, Brenda helped me tremendously. She operated the B-B-Q while I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off, lol. She stayed afterwards and help me clean up and then we both sat down on the patio set and drank a couple of wine coolers : ) Whew, what a day! I'm so glad I did it though - no regrets. I have tons of food left over, so the staff at the office are going to be treated tomorrow.
I hope you enjoyed your time with Tara yesterday. Is she all settled and enjoying her independence and college life? How's mom and Vince doing with it all?
Billy starts his last C-School tomorrow. Seems like it's been a long journey of getting him trained. He should be able to report to his ship with alot of confidence of knowing he is capable to doing the job. Hope Jason is doing good and still sharing his time with Hannah.

Thank you again for being such a kind and caring friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sent Jason a Happy Birthday email message and he responed back right away. He says he thinks this girl is the one, but he plans to take it slow. He said "she keeps me in line, lol". How sweet that she got him a cake!!
I'm so happy he has found someone is really likes (loves). Okay, we have to pray for Billy that he will do the same cause he's getting old you know, lol.
I'm getting real excited about next weekend. I've got 15 confirmed that are coming and a whole bunch of "might attend" people. I'm going to have a bigger turnout than I originally thought I would. We will have a nice variety with some having kids in DEP, Boot, recently PIR'd, A & C Schools, and some on ships or bases across the country. Several Navy dads are coming as well, so we're going to have a nice mix of people. I think it's going to be fun. I am just hoping that everything goes smooth and that everyone has a good time. The person I would like most to be there can't make it, but I understand it's too far away, my friend.
Better get myself back to work :(
Have a great weekend!!

How did the orientation go? Are you still planning to take a vacation in NM?
Thanks for the compliment on the photo. Don't get those chances very often when he's in uniform and there's a camera around, so I seized the moment, lol. The double date didn't happen. The girl kept giving different reasons over the weekend as to why she couldn't see him. Billy may make another attempt at it while he's home next week - he's not sure though. He'll be pretty busy this trip. He's working at least 3 days at the Recruiting office. I really hate him having to make that drive across the desert. It's so hot there this time of the year. You're more likely to have issues with your vehicle driving thru those high temps.
How's Jason doing?
I couldn't take it any longer not having the internet at home, so I'll be hooked back up early next week. Good thing I hadn't found N4M's before I had it turned off last year or it never would have happened, lol.
Hope your doing good!

Christie, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here and we have been known to brag on them a little. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force 5 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank Jason for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising fine young man.

Awe, I'm so glad you're here!!!! Threw me for a second. I clicked on and was expecting N4M's to pop-up. I closed it out thinking I made a mistake. Yes, it's cool how your friends are automatically transferred over between the two sites. There are some really good groups on NavyDads, so check them out when you have time. I've learned so much since I've become a member here and enjoy sharing info also. The members are all so supportive and promptly answer questions or concerns.

I'm excited about the move. Don't know what I'm going to do with all that new found space. Guess I'll have to start entertaining more, lol. Maybe have a life, huh?

Glad you're here!!
