- What were your feelings when your Sailor joined the Navy:
- Proud that she is finally going to do something with her life! Had no idea that she would follow in her Father's footsteps and join the Navy!She is a tough cookie and never gives up on herself or anyone else. She is a great leader and true friend and can be depended on in times of need. If at war you would want her at your Daughters or Son's side. She can build engines, not afraid of grease, and knows more about cars than most boys around our hometown. She used to race motocross and has a basement full of Trophies. She is an Aviation Mechanic. So next time you see my gorgeous daughter just remember under all that beauty there's a Sailor ready to give her life for you!!

Congrats; your husband and you will look forward on her leave. We cannot wait until our sailor and her daughter land at Hobby, Houston while taking leave. We have not sen our AO# since 2009 when she was sent to Janpan. She cannot wait to take leave from Lemoore NAS, I know the feeling being a vet. Enjoy her visit and give regards to your husband.

Brad said… Cora, thanks for the congrats for Garrett's advancement. Sorry to hear that Brooklyn didn't get it this time. I am sure she will get it on the next go around. Looks like Garrett is staying on for another year with HS-14 in Japan. His 3 yr Japan order will be up this Feb., but he has added 1 year to stay with the squardron so he can rotate back to San Deigo for training on a new helo at the end of next year. Maybe this next year he will meet up with Brooklyn sometime! Thanks again for your Bravo Zulo for Garrett!

battlebuddy said… Oh Cora, I am so sorry to hear that and I totally understand. We just lost one of my son's best friends from Boot Camp last week and it has been extremely hard. He was in San Diego and doing the PFA, and went into Cardaic Arrest. 19 years old. It was just really really sad, and Josh is underway right now too, so that made it worse for him. I know what you mean about stress.....it seems to be getting worse instead of better.....Hope we can chat soon....

Chat on Navy Dads
The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it. The chat will also make a two note sound when someone posts a comment so you know when the chat is active.…
