944, where is your son now. My Grandson is in Coronado, Phase II is just weeks away from being over. Phase II ends and Christmas leave starts then it is on to Phase III when he returns. Hope your son is doing good and is close to going to Coronado. Let him know we are Proud of him and wish all the Luck in the world. If he isn't at Coronado yet and you have any question let me know. I was out there visiting GS and can give you info on the area he will be training in.

Jay- as your son's PIR get closer and closer, I hope you spend some time in the PIR- tips and hints group to help you plan for and better enjoy that awesome day. It makes it all worth while when you see him march though that door and repeat teh Sailor's Creed! Paul

JayR, Please let R’s Grandparents know that I appreciate they service to this country. My dad was in the Army in WWII, dad passed away 25 years ago now, and my brother was in the Navy during Vietnam and I was in the Air Force also during Vietnam. It is a tough choice these days but it means so much more because there is no draft as there was when I went in. Thank God for those brave young men and women who do make the sacrifice to go in the military. May God sail with our sailors.

Jay thanks for joining. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud navy dads just like myself. Thank your Son for his service for me. Good luck and thanks again for joining. Sincerely, EG

Jay, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad you have joined us. I see that you have joined a group; you will find support, encouragement and information there. Take a look at some of the discussions and other groups. Maybe start one of your own. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors here but we are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I can relate to the proud and scared issues, I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force and my oldest joined the Navy and is in Everett, WA. waiting for the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72 to return to port. That is where he will be stationed. Please thank Ryan for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising such a fine young man.
Terry
