Welcome to NavyDads Jim! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is a month into a seven-month deployment on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month deployment on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Jim this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Jim is doing!

Be sure to spend some time in the Bootcamp group- there are many questions and answers available to help you understand what your sailor is going through. And as PIR draws closer, be sure to spend some time going through the PIR-Tips, Hints and Helps group- we’ve tried to assemble some tips and suggestions to make your sailors PIR more enjoyable. Jim, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad you have joined us. I see that you have joined a group, I like that jump right in and get involved. Take some time and look around the site. Get involved with some of the other groups and discussions that are going on. Maybe start one of your own. This is your site to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here we may even brag on them a bit. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is in Everett, WA. stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank Jim for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for your service to this great country as well. Thank you for raising a fine young man.
