My sailor was on "vols" which means he didn't have mandatory study hours, at least part of that time. And he was able to come home (I live in SC so we were within his mile radius) if he filled out a "chit" to give to his…

I think that pretty much covers it! I added before that if one of the other sailors screws up in class or about class they could all be de-phased. There were 2 times in his A school this happened. He was phase 3 at thanksgiving, had started A…

Hi John, We are proud of our son as you with yours. Nick is 3 weeks away from graduating A school. He will be home for 10 days then back to Prototype. We are so excited to see him. He will be the third generation in our family to serve in the armed forces. My dad 10 months on the front trenches of the Korean war, I a medic during Desert Storm era, and Nick with the Iraq war. My wife (Nicks mother) is also a USAF Veteran. We strongly believe we live in the greatest place on earth and will vigorously defend and serve. John, thanks for the text, I wish you and your family good health and safety. regards, Tracy

Hi John and welcome! I read your comment in the Bootcamp Group and your comment about your wife hit me. My son's PIR was 8/15, he's moved across the street and waiting for school to start, hopefully this Tuesday. If you wife would like to talk to other Mom's during this time, please let her know that there are Mom's on this site. Also, there is the Navy for Mom's site, which is great for support, encouragement, info, and anything else she may need. I'm also a member of N4M's and would love to keep in contact with her. When Morgan left for BC (he was living in Seattle), I thought my heart was going to break. I know she's lived through BC hell alreay, but if this time is going to be harder for her, we'll be there for you....and you! God bless. Cindy

John, “Welcome Aboard”. It is good to have you with us. Take some time and look around get involved in some of the discussions and groups ask questions answer questions. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We are all just so proud of our sailors and want to brag on them. We also want to support and encourage each other. I have two sons and both are in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago and my oldest join the Navy and is now finishing “A” school. Please thank TJ and Chaz for their service to this great country of ours from an old Vietnam Vet.

Johnthanks for joining. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads wouldn't feel guilty interacting in a woman's world. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailors. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud navy dads just like myself. Thank your sons for their service for me. Good luck and thanks again for joining. EG
