- My wife and I have been married 24 years. We have four kids. Our recruit, Aidan, is our second son. I work as a communications director at a private boys' school in Concord, MA. I'm a Boston Irishman, fan of the Red Sox, NE Patriots, Bruins and B.C. Hockey. Fittingly perhaps, my favorite books are the Aubrey/Maturin sea novels of Patrick O'Brien.I never served but hold a very profound respect for all those who wore or now wear the country's uniform.

I am praying they all do ok, and we soon get that call that says they are a sailor! On N4Ms they released two recruits yesterday for medical reasons. I am hoping our sons stay healthy and determined. Let me know if you here anything.

Thanks for the info. We haven't got to talk to John since April 27th. I am praying that we get a call soon. I'm glad Aiden ot my card. I wondered if he knew John at all. I wish we would hear something. I had heard that Battlestations was the 28th on N4M, so I guess that info was acurate. I hope all our guys and gals do a great job and make it through ok.

I have a site on N4Moms too... I have found several moms with children in 210. It is so great to link up with other people who know how we are feeling. I have a division 210 discussion going on there, and you are welcome to join. Don't have to be a mom to be there. You might gain some info on your son. I am anxious for June 5th. John's leaving left me with an empty nest, and I miss himso. My husband, John's girlfriend, and myself are all traveling to Great lakes for the graduation. - Hello John. Welcome to Navy Dads. I noticed your post about Aiden's wisdom teeth. I wanted to tell you that my son just had that done. It was over a year after he left boot camp and gone through "A" school. When you write to him, just encourage him and be up-beat and keep him focused on the training he is recieving. I'm glad you are here and be sure to visit the RTC web site for information on the PIR. If you look to the right on these pages, a lot of the links will take you to the RTC web site. Hope to talk to you more. GO NAVY!

Joe Jr said… - Sorry about the P.C. @ least that is not how we are communicating with the kids. We did receive our first letter from Joe this afternoon. He said they did not get sleep for 36 hours upon arriving but that seemed more like an observation than a complaint. He did get assigned a job as Weapons P.O. , hopefully that is a good thing and will help him out. Joe did remark that the food is pretty good. If I had to guess I would say that his tone is pretty upbeat. Hope you hear something soon. Joe

Otto Mueller said… - Guess I should have checked my page before responding. My ex received John's "box" and got emotional about it. I haven't heard from John since he left. He and I had a talk about the 5 minute call and I told him to call his mother first and his girlfriend next, if there was time left then me. So, I haven't heard from him. His mother and I speak often and she keeps me pretty informed from her N4M site. In fact, we talk almost everyday asking each other the same question, "did you hear from him?.. did you get a letter?" Having gone down the boot camp road, I'm still a big believer in no news is good news.

- John... My son John is also in Div 210. I assume this week is all about confidence building and getting a grasp what teamwork really means to the Navy and to the recruits. June 5th is the scheduled PIR, if all goes well hope to meet you then.

- Thanks for the friends invitation John, it is great. I am getting a lot from the web site and making a lot of new friends. We did , or I should say my wife got two very short calls from Joe yesterday. Both were related to his need for information with regard to his background investigation. While they were speaking Joe told Renee' that since he has direct deposit he needs a check card for his bank account. I do not know if you have such an arrangement for Aidan but I thought I would throw that out there. We are having one overnight expressed to us, then to him. As of yesterday Joe had not received one of my letters, I have sent five and a post card. How frustrating! I had hoped he would get to call for my birthday, guess I will have to take off the "rose colored glasses". Take care and our best to you, Aidan and the family. Oh, by the way Joe did squeeze in that he is doing surprisingly well. That is comforting.

Chat on Navy Dads
The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it. The chat will also make a two note sound when someone posts a comment so you know when the chat is active.…
