What were your feelings when your Sailor joined the Navy:
I was terrified.
At first i was being selfish and didnt think about what would be best for him and did not want him to join.
I then thought about our future and what would be best for him.
He is now training to do what he loves, for the most part.
I am really glad that he joined, although we will be apart for 75% of the time his is enlisted, I have learned to deal with it.

kristen,
My daughter Brooklyn is at GL in boot camp now. I spent 4 years in the Navy. It is a great experience for him and for you. You should look forward to him getting a good education and experience fora career for the rest of his life whether it is in the Navy or outside the Military.

Hi Kristen - Like Mr. Co-Admin said, I don't know how much you've looked around. If you join Navy for Moms, there's a girlfriend's group there as well. Join both and you'll get twice the support!

Kristen, I don’t know how much you have looked around here but you might consider joining the group NaVy GiRlFrIeNdS. It might be a help and you might be able to help others. Just a thought. Have a great weekend.

Kristen, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you are with us. Take a look around and feel free to join in on some discussions or join a group or two. Start one of your own. Ask questions and answer questions, this is your site to use and enjoy. We are a bunch of folks who are very proud of our sailors. We are here to support and encourage each other because we are in this together. I have two sons and both are in the military. My youngest join the Air force over 4 years ago and my oldest join the navy and is finishing “A” school. Please tell Sean to join us here when he gets a chance and please thank him for his serves to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet.
