Thanks to all the respondants. Great information. Both the sailor and her Dad feel better, at least for now. I'll cancel the call to Rick West the CNO.

When my son was placed in THU, there were 90+ Sailors there ahead of him. Last I checked with him, he was number 6 or 7 longest being there. Not sure if they take them in order of when they are placed in THU or what. But hopefully he will be…

You most likely can expect her to stay there until she gets a few blood tests that will show that her white cell count is lined out and that there are no more problems. I won't sugar coat it for you. It might be a while. My son graduated on 4/3…

Kirk: KC is on medical hold in GL as we speak. Mild case of sore throat and whacked-out white cell count. Hopefully she won't be held there too long. Bet you are anxious to see Holly. They grow up way to fast.

Medical Hold Status

Posted on August 11, 2009 at 5:56pm 3 Comments

My daughter just graduated from GL on 8/9. She had struggled with a sore throat and cold for about two weeks. She did graduate and was supposed to go to Pensacola for AW school. Instead they said her white cell count was off a little and placed her on a medical hold. What can she expect next?

Raymond, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here and we have been known to brag on them a little. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force 5 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank Kacey for her service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising a fine young woman.
Please thank your son and grandson for their service as well.

Welcome to NavyDads Raymond! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what she is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric just returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat returned last fall from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Raymond this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Kacey is doing! And stop by the NavyDads offical store- Navyoutfitters.com. Show your support for NavyDads by wearing the latest in NavyDads attire. Best Regards- Paul

Raymond, Welcome Aboard!

My son is an ABE aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego, Ca. and my family and I couldn't be prouder of him. When he first enlisted I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your daughters journey in the Navy. Thank Kacey for her service for me and thanks again for joining us.

Sincerely, EG
