I am attorney with the University of Texas at Austin. I direct the Legal Services for Students office there. I love sports- esp. baseball (like the Astros, Cardinals, Dodgers and even the Yankees), college football (go Horns!), golf- I shoot in the 70s (if it gets hotter than that I go inside :-), bicycling and meteorology (esp. hurricanes). Married for 31 years to my honey and best friend Peggy. Love to travel. Have a daughter who was in the Air Force and now is a senior at Colo. State. Am very proud of my son who has become very goal oriented now that he is in the Navy. I sincerely hope he can succeed at his preparatory school post basic training at Great Lakes, Ill. Great, nice honest young man and now sailor.

What were your feelings when your Sailor joined the Navy:
Great. Would only improve a great young man and help him re-establish his personal goals. Glad to see him doing something he really believes in. He wants to be a part of something bigger than himself and now he is.

Raymond, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. I see that you have joined a group you will find some great folks and good help there. Take a look at some of the discussions and other groups that are going on. I am trying very hard to watch my words here, you being an attorney and all ;-). This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here but we are also here to support and encourage each other. We are all in this together. I see that you have, or had, an airman and now you have a sailor. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago and my oldest joined the Navy. He is in Everett, WA. waiting for the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72 to return to port. That is where he will be stationed. Please thank Ray for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Please thank your daughter for her service as well. I served 4 years in the Air Force in the early 70’s. Thank you and Peggy for raising two fine young people.

Raymond thanks for joining. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud navy dads just like myself. Thank your son for his service for me. Good luck and thanks again for joining. Sincerely, EG
