My Sailor's first name (Please do not post SEAL names)
Ron
What is or will be your sailor's rate (job classification) - ex. ABE, AM, GM, etc
ETSN attending ET "A" school in Great Lakes, IL
Describe a little about yourself:
I am personally retired after having served 20+ years in Uncle Sam's Finest NAVY. After my retirement, I met the most wonderful woman who also had a great 14 year old son. The kid didn't know me from Adam, but said he wanted to join the NAVY when he graduated from High School. Wow, where did the last 4 years go? Our son has graduated and has enlisted in the Navy himself. Proud you ask? DAMN PROUD... carry the torch for one more generation.
Prior Military Experience
Proud Navy Veteran
What brought you to this site:
My son is currently serving, I am a sailor
What were your feelings when your Sailor joined the Navy:
Proud that we all have kids that aren't afraid to stand up for what they believe is right for our Freedom; which many of us ourselves took that same oath.
What is your relationship with your sailor

The best thing you can do is to monitor the site and jump right in when you see a post that you can reply to. Right now we have a lots of concerns about the delays in classing-up....I gues many of our newer members haven't yet learned and the hurry-up and wait rule!!!!!

Dave- we're glad to have you on the site !! Best Regards- Paul

Hello Retired NAVY Dad! I wanted to introduce myself and say hello! You have been a member of NavyDads for quite some time and I may not have had to opportunity to touch base with you. As NavyDads Admin I hope you've found the site as fun and useful as I have. Continue to explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is on the second half of a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat recently returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Retired NAVY Dad this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Ron is doing! And thank you for your service to our great country. Best Regards- Paul

Retired Navy Dad, I wanted to take this moment and thank you for your service to this great country. The sacrifices that you made have not gone unnoticed on this upcoming Veterans Day. It is because of you and others like you that we enjoy the freedoms that we have. I salute you!

Retired Navy Dad, if I remember correctly Ron was going to graduate this last Friday. How did that go? I hope all went well.

I share your excitement! I know how cool it is to call your son shipmate; it was very cool to call my youngest son a fellow airman when he went in to the Air Force. I will be celebrating with you and Chrystal on Friday when you are at PIR. Be safe in your travels. It would be good to meet someday and a cold one doesn’t sound bad at all either here in Florida or Southern California. When you get back from PIR I would be interested to hear how it went and see some pics.

Well duh to me lol I see it is China Lake, CA. . .when I was younger (teenager) my family lived in CA, LA, Redding, French Gulch, and Anderson. I don't recall a China Lake. . .where abouts it that?

Dave - A quick note to say how ironic you & your wife have the same names as my aunt & uncle (married).
Do you do the teaching voluntarily or a business? I know the travel agency has to be a big hit with all those going to PIR's :). By the way, what area of U.S. do you reside in?
