Thanks Paul. I had a great time on my recent Tiger Cruise aboard the USS Stennis from San Diego to Bremerton. Learned a lot and spent some quality time with my Son Kyle.
Thank you Paul. I actually spent many hours spanning the course of several days "exploring" in an attempt to answer as many of my questions as possible before registering then posting.
I am certainly learning a lot however the more posts I read, the more questions I have. ;)
Thank you for the welcome. I'm an Air Force brat and newly separated Army officer. Most of what I knew about the US Navy came from a history book or old documentaries. I've been trying to learn a bit more, so my new sailor won't be so shocked at my ignorance. Our daughter is more than halfway through RTC now. We've been exchanging letters and are frequently amused as we see her eyes rolling at some aspects of living with a large number of young women. We've had more phone calls than we anticipated, but probably won't get another until she's confirming her graduation date and "A" school itinerary. I'm slightly nervous, as we always are when our chicks take wing, but very proud her accepting this challenge and confident of her success.
Thanks Paul. Letting go was an emotional day for sure. I remembered how nervous I was the day I departed for Basic Training. I was a couple of years older when I joined. He joined as a junior in HS and shipped shortly after he graduated. I could see the nervous look all over his body and face. He handled it well and I was extremely proud of him.
Hi Paul Thank you for reaching out. Congratulations you must be very proud. I am very new to this website, but I can't wait to get started. We received the form letter this weekend. So we are excited for his 9/9/16 PIR date. I am happy I have an address. I am sure this website is going to be a great place to get information and meet people. Thank you again for reaching out!
Thank you for the add and invite to your fb page. I didn't anticipate the way things are going with Alex leaving that it would be this hard. But I am finding a lot of useful info on the www and here. Thank you for helping me transition
Thanks for allowing me to join.
Our oldest son served on the USS Enterprise, our middle son is in the non service navy and currently deployed.
Our youngest son is at Great Lakes with three weeks to go.
Wish we would have know about these groups with the other two.
No problem at all. There's a lot to try to get a handle on. After I posted I thought "maybe there's a Great Lakes in Fla, and I just don't understand", like it took me awhile to figure out what to put down as Zach's title. I thought NA for naval aviator, then NFO, but that's different, I finally figured it's just Pilot, though I thought there should be an abreviation, so I still don't quite get it.
Thanks for the warm welcome, Paul. I'm not sure my son will go to Great Lakes at all, he's going through OCS in Newport now, and I think then goes to Pensacola for flight school. The site looks great and useful, though, and I appreciate having it available!
Thank you Paul. I am trying to find as much info possible to pass on to my son. He said he can call twice a week. I was hoping to give him information before he meets with legal this upcoming week.

I think the limit is 10,000 on new threads... I think.
Hi Paul, Thanks for getting back to me. No apology necessary. I was at the bottom of the Tiger Cruise discussion list where is says add a discussion: http://www.navydads.com/group/tigerorfamilydaycruise/forum/topic/new?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.navydads.com%2Fgroup%2Ftigerorfamilydaycruise I copied and pasted my entry and hit post. I got the same error each time. I hope that answers your question.
