This Proud Navy Dad has a SR in this ship and division with an OS rating.
nice to meet you Robb, grateful to meet another Navy dad of SR on ship 03. Div 308. Peace be with you as we await PIR. Hope the first couple of weeks have been good for you and your wife.
We got a 41 min call yesterday and hearing his voice crack was so hard.

Hey John , I have a SR in the 308 , got a call Sat. he sounded a little beat up but hanging in there . Done me and his mom wonders just to hear his voice and him as well, I hope . I probably know the least on here but if can be of any help just ask.

Hey Jay, thanks for responding. Glad to meet some more dads. It had gotten a little quiet on here. My son called 6 times Saturday from 2:08 to 2:45 and I was out of town so each time it went straight to voice mail. I know those calling cards dock 1.40 just to connect so I figure it wiped that $10 card out I gave him. I was able to make out one voice mail he left it. I don't know if knowing any more would do me any good. I am just trying to hang in there for another 31 days.
Rob or Jay; How'd the conversations go with either of you guys? Any word on how their division is doing?

According to some moms my wife is talking to on NM , sounds like they are struggling. I have read on here that its pretty common and should gel together and start working as a team. He pretty much said the same thing to me Sat. Along with him telling me that the last argument we had before he shipped didn't seem so important and for the life of him couldn't remember why we were to start with lol ! Wish I knew this when he turn 13 lol!

Same here, I keep telling myself that I've raised a fine young man and this will only make him better. Hang in there dude ! We are all in this together.

Good evening gentlemen.
After reading through your posts I wanted to chime in. I know where you guys are coming from. My son's PIR was 15 July 2016 (Div 254) and I can vividly remember the feelings I had throughout his boot camp days.

As a dad that has recently gone through this, I have two suggestions.
1. Read the post on the Boot Camp group "A Must Read for All New Navy Parrents" if you haven't already. According to my son, it is spot on as far as what they are experiencing.
2. Write them as often as you can. My son said that the letters make all the difference in the world. Oh and the Navy for Moms site has great tips on things to include in you letters.

Thanks for letting me nose into you post and please thank your sailors for their service for me. Our country is better because of men and women like them.
HOOYAH! 308!
Thanks Jay and Brett thanks for not forgetting. You re a good example to me to encourage those who are just beginning because I remember what that was like.
Robb on your address are you mailing to 60088-3156? This weeks letter my son has written from 60088-7103. Just wondered if I should use the 7103.

any parents with someone in ship 6 div 283?
