Last year in October, I had the honor and privilege of being a part of an amazing event, called the Honor Flight.  It's an event that honors the WWll Vets and gives them the "Welcome Home" they never received.  Vets are taken on a day trip to Washington and on the flight home, they do "mail call" where they are given letters from family, friends and strangers who just want to thank them for the service. When they arrive home, the airport is filled with people, banners, cheerleaders, bands, news reporters, flags etc.. It's truly an unbelievable day for these Vets.  This flight had 16 vets on it and I received over 300 cards and letters and gifts for these Vets.  It was overwhelming for all.

It's that time again!!! The next Honor Flight will be on Saturday, May 31st, in Fort Lauderdale Airport. I heard there will be about 50 Vets on this flight and they will be doing the mail call again on the airplane.

If you are interested in sending a card or letter or making a "Welcome Home" sign, please send me a message and I will send you the address where to send the cards too. We had an amazing turnout in October and the Vets were amazed and thankful for all the cards and letters that were sent by you all.
I know some of you like to personalize your letters and I will have the names of the Vets in the next few weeks. Thank you again for all your support for this wonderful event. And please feel free to pass this information along. The Vets really enjoyed the last set of mail they received from all of us.

  • We went to the first one they had in October 2013 in Fort Lauderdale Airport and it was something we will never forget. I was so honored to be a part of this amazing event. We collected over 300 cards and letters to be handed out during the "mail call". And as an added bonus, our son, was home on leave and able to be a part of this wonderful event with his family. I am so looking forward to the flight in May.  Thanks for sharing, Paul.
