Not sure if there's anyone in the group anymore but I thought I would check in.  My son is heading to RTC in one month and has a rating of MT.  He wasn't to sure about going subs but has decided that no matter what he will be the best submariner he can be.  He was given a choice of MT or Nuke but his grades in high school got him.  He passed the test and background but they went back to HS in he had some trouble with girls and his grades dropped.  So he's staying with MT and is happy he did.
