Hello, our daughter just arrived at Lackland NTTC on Saturday to begin MA training. She is interested in getting into MWD. Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to get into this specialty area? Thanks

I meant to say that they usually only take two from each class.
She will have an advantage because she will already know which specialty she wants. If she studies and keeps her eye on the prize, She will have a very good shot at it.
You might want to look up OC Spray on YouTube. This will be the worst part of MA school!
Hi David,
My daughter is a MWD handler. MA school is roughly 8 weeks long. I would encourage her to concentrate on on school and not get side tracked by the new found freedom they are earning. They only take to candidates per MA class. When there are spots available. She needs to do well on her testing, All phases of training and an interview process. My daughter didn't think she would get a spot, but she really tried and it payed off.
Let me know if you have any more general or specific questions. :)
BZ to your daughter on a job well done!!
