Mark Garber, after BC he will go to his A school at Fort Sam Houston (Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program). May have to wait to class up but A school is about 18 weeks. FMTB (Field Medical Training Battalion) will either be at Camp Lujeune (FMTB-East), or Camp Pendleton (FMTB-West). Again, may have to wait to class up, but FMTB is 8 weeks of training to get these Corpsman ready to be assigned to a USMC unit. Your son will not be consdiered FMF until he actually gets assigned to a USMC unit (also know as going "green side"). If you are on facebook already check out the groups I mentioned above; if you are not on fb consider joining.

From a Navy mom...."F.A.S.T. Stands for Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team and it is typically attached to the Marine Corps if I'm not mistaken."

My son is going to a F.A.S.T. unit. What can he expect in the way of training?  Will he train as part of the Marine unit?

Talk to Derek last night.  He said he will be busy the next couple of months as he attempts to pass his advancement exam as well as try to gain the FMF pin.  As he hung up he told his mother he loved her, and then she cried for 20 minutes....thanks son.
