Just talked with one of our own.  Cora had a surgical procedure today and is doing well.  It's not to often that we post on one another but keep Cora in your prayers and she is doing well.

Eric Cantor has a patients advocate whose name is Lloyd Lenhart. He works primarily with people in his district, but I'm sure he'd be able to hook you up with people to talk to.

Thanks for thinking about me.Sorry to hear of loss of your brother Dick! Must be really hard for you right now and having to take your Mom in also. I have mine living with us too. She has been in the hospital for over a week with pneumonia and oxygen levels were low and she had to have a blood transfusion. She finally got released to come home last night. I feel like I need a vacation to the beach for an unknown amount of time to get my head together again. Stay strong your in my thoughts and prayers

So has your sailor started a school or is he just down there in Pensacola waiting to start. that was trhe hardest part for our daughter..the waiting. I agree every sailor should have the opportunity to go to sea..to see the world. How fortunate in these times to be able to go the places they can go now. When I went in the army i wanted to go to Europe(because asa child we were there with our dad but i was a child a toddler in fact so thats no fun) but instead i was stationed in the same state I grew up in so did not get to see the world..Only gotr to se Ft Jackson SC for boot camp and ft mcclellan Alabama for Military police school. Sometimes I wish I had it to do over again...Course probably would have the wonderful kids I have now though. LOL

Congrats on your son Graduation(PIR). I loved going to L t see my Daughters PIR in Oct. So awesome. We never had anything that cool when I graduated Army BC in Ft Jackson and course we were outside on the field when we had our Grad Ceremony. I had to wear my class A's , and of course us women had to wear Skirts! LOL That I dont blive women should have to wear in the service, any Branch. I love the fact that they get to wear pants in the Navy! Thank you for finding some of my Posts interesting. Check out my husband Howie's page also, he has some interesting posts too. Well thank your son for serving our country!

hello: my son graduates on 12-19 as well. he left 10-28. he is in div. 904, ship 6. It's tough not having him for the holidays but I know he made the right choice, like your son has as well. We the parents will do fine, the recruits are busy as bees. But it's us the parents who feel it probably more so. You keep the faith, I wish well for your son, and god bless. John

Dick, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. Take some time and check out some of the groups and discussions that are going on around the site. Maybe start one of your own. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love talking about our sailors around here and we have been known to brag on them a bit. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and both of them are in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is in Everett, WA. stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank L Scott for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising a fine young man.

Dick, Welcome Aboard!. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud navy dads just like myself. Thank your son for his service for me and thanks again for joining. Sincerely, EG

Welcome to NavyDads Dick! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is almost two months into a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Dick this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how J Scott is doing!

Be sure to spend some time in the Bootcamp group- there are many questions and answers available to help you understand what your sailor is going through. And as PIR draws closer, be sure to spend some time going through the PIR-Tips, Hints and Helps group- we’ve tried to assemble some tips and suggestions to make your sailors PIR more enjoyable. Best Regards- Paul
