Got good news last night from our son,he is ok and they werent very worried about a sunami in the indian ocean.he also got his detatch date and he will be home in june for 30 days then headed to oklahoma.

Its been a couple of years since our sons PIR but we found an inexspensive stay at the quality inn in Waukegan.We originally booked the Ramada Inn in Waukegan and found out that looks are very deceiving.it wasnt at all what appeared online.

well they finally pulled jon's ship out and turned it around.he said dad the ship sure looks alot bigger now that you see it from the other side.he is on the carl vinson.didn't talk to him for 3 or 4 days and got worried as most parents do.he then called and said the ship was on a mock sea test or trial and everyone was at their post as if they were at sea underway.sure was different he said. they are suppose to move to norfolk in june and then i think they will be going out forafew weeks at a… Continue

jonathan is currently serving on te USS Carl Vinson CVN-70. he is working in security and is hoping to get to San Antonio soon to finish his training.....

- Hi Kyle. I correspond with Scott Mahon quite a bit and noticed that you have also. When I was posting a message for him (to help console him some concerning his son's division) I noticed that your recommended not to stay at the Ramada. Is that the one at Gurnee that you're referring to? I used a travel agent to book my reservations and they recommended that we stay there. Would you mind sharing some of your concerns if this is the same one? My daughter is in boot camp right now. Her PIR date is 16 Oct (the same as Scott's son). Thanks. Bob Dixon

Chat on Navy Dads
The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it. The chat will also make a two note sound when someone posts a comment so you know when the chat is active.…
