I talked to James and he said the holdup on AEGIS is the housing. His class is leaving Dalgren in Jan. so are a lot of others as well as they are making the E5's and up in for retraining to move off base so they should start having orders…

He will be on the USS John McCain. We are now looking into airfare to Japan next year to visit him. It is a long way from home but he is happy and got what he worked so hard for. We are very happy.

Navydads co-admin (Terry) said… - Larry “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. I see that you have been busy jumping in and getting involved, I like that. Check out some of the other groups and some of the discussions that are going on. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here and we have been known to brag on them a little. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank James for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising a fine young man.

So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is on the tail end of a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat recently returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Larry this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how James is doing!
As a parent of a sailor currently or soon to be at Great Lakes you'll have many questions about what your son is going through. Chat on Navy Dads
The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it. The chat will also make a two note sound when someone posts a comment so you know when the chat is active.…
