It was posted about 30 min ago on RTC Facebook page: To clear up any confusion, the correct graduation day for Memorial Day weekend is Thursday, May 26.

And From RTC WEBSITE:

TG 28 —   7 Divisions (179–184 & 928) Graduate Thursday, May 26, 2011

My input:

If you have already made hotel reservations you need to go ahead and change them as well as letting you employer know you are leaving sooner. Hopefully no one made flight arrangements yet. The good news is… Continue

I like the ribbons. Those are very nice. Where did you find them?

LaLa, Welcome Aboard!

When my son first enlisted in the Navy I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to his future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. We have many moms on the site and benefit greatly from their point of views and we are willing to help the moms in any way we can. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your daughters journey in the Navy. Thank Loran for her service for me and thanks again for joining us.

Sincerely, E.G.

Welcome to NavyDads.com Lala! I'm sure you'll find NavyDads as useful, educational and informative as I have. Please explore the site and make some new friends. Read the disucssions and add your comments. Browse through the postings in the various groups or start a new one. I certainly have! If you have any comments, questions or concerns about your sailor and what she is going through...be sure to post them! In my experience someone here can answer your questions or concerns or can point you in the direction to find out. I'm blessed to have two sailors in the family - my son Eric (AM3) is stationed on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat (MC3) just completed her enlistment on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Lala this is a great place to brag as well! So join in, get active, and be sure to let us know how Loran is doing! Please remember that we talk about the Navy here and we must keep the security and safety of our sailors and the fleet in mind. On the right side of every NavyDads page is an area we call About This Site. Please take a minute and read through the Operations Security (OPSEC) link for some guidelines as to what we should and should not talk about in a public forum.

As a parent of a sailor currently or soon to be at Great Lakes you'll have many questions about what your daughter is going through. In the Navy Bootcamp group is a discussion called A MUST READ for all New Navy Parents. Read through this post as it will do a lot to give you some understanding about what your sailor is learning and why. And be sure to check out the videos available in the Bootcamp Group as well.

As PIR draws closer, be sure to spend some time going through the PIR-Tips, Hints and Helps group- we’ve tried to assemble some tips and suggestions to make your sailor's PIR more enjoyable. Best Regards- Paul

Hello! As far as the names go, it's more important to protect our sailors. We pretty much leave it up to the member to decide if they want to use all or part or even a ficticious name. We would always try to encourage new people to read the OPSEC rules first. Sometimes I will suggest name changes, but usually don't have to. It's just not a hard and fast rule here. I also depends on the job or rate the sailor has. My son has a pretty high security job and we don't use last names. Even at that, when he had to go through SERE, they found 22 pages off the internet about him. Facebook, My Space, Yahoo, etc... So I think if the parents do the responsible thing, there are less problems. You obviously know about OPSEC and do the right thing. Thank you.

Welcome aboard to Navy Dads Lala! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun, useful, and educational as I have. Take some time to explore the site and make some new friends. There are many different groups and lots of discussions. Read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I certainly have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. While Loran is in Boot Camp at Great Lakes, I would suggest you join the Navy Boot Camp group.

I have one sailor in the family - my son Stephen is an AWO2. (Air warfare systems operator) He is a Petty Officer 2nd Class and flies in the P-3 Orion sub hunter. Currently he is with VP-45 in Jacksonville, FL. This is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Loran is doing!

We do ask that you remember that we talk about the Navy here and we must keep the security and safety of our sailors in mind at all times. On the right side of every Navy Dads page is an area we call “About This Site.” Please take a minute and read through the Operations Security (OPSEC) link and the NavyDads Guidelines link.

Also be sure to stop by the NavyDads official store- Navyoutfitters.com. Show your support for Navy Dads by wearing the latest in Navy Dads attire. Also be sure to check out the “How to Tutorial” on the starboard side of the page. It’s a short video that will help you to navigate around the site. Again, welcome and we’ll see you around the fleet! GO NAVY! HOOYAH!

Best Regards- Jim
