My son Jorge L. Galindez Burgos left on deployment yesterday. I wish him and all his crewmen lots of blessings. I am VERY PROUD of my son and all the sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

We pray for ALL the sailors so they be strong in order to confront the Haitian disaster and I'm also very proud of my godson who's on one of the carriers that's over at Haiti or on it's way to Haiti.

- I'm a teacher. I hold a Master Degree in Education and a Black Belt in Shoulin Kung Fu. I have a wife, two girls and I'm a proud dad of a Navy sailor. I have never served in any armed forces but my brother did (USS Navy) for 20 years (he was a flight engineer) and my godson (whom I'm also very proud of is serving now in the United States Navy.

- It was an impact, but I supported my son 100%, because this is what he wanted to do.

We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force 5 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank Jorge for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising fine young man.

If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric just returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat returned last fall from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). Chat on Navy Dads
The chat feature on Navy Dads has changed a little. To enter into the chat room click on were it says Navy Dads (44 members online) then type your post in the box and hit enter to make the post show up. When you are done click the the arrow by the person icon and the chat box will be hidden again. The chat feature can also be found on the main page. Just scroll down till you see it. The chat will also make a two note sound when someone posts a comment so you know when the chat is active.…
