No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny
Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.
RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

Got a phone call from my SR today. Wasn't a l very long call but definitely a blessing to here her voice.

Received a two letters from our daughter yesterday. She loves getting mail from home. She said she runs for it when they call her name. So for everyone out there that has a son or daughter in RTC, please write to them as much as possible. Mail call is the highlight of the day for them.

That's great Gary. Our daughter is the Recruit Master at Arms for the division. I have no idea where she will be when they are marching. I'm looking so forward to PIR and the chance to see her again.

It's a great Friday!! Received a letter today from our daughter ship 3 div 029. She said everything is going great!! The food is ok, not the same as home, but good. She said they will have access to phones and computers on Christmas Day to call home!! Best news I've had since she left home.

Same here - my son left 16th - got the form letter last weekend as well. Ship 14 DIV 039, grad date Jan 13.

My daughter left on the 16th. I got her form letter last weekend. She is in Ship 03 DIV 041 with graduation date is January 13.

Hi All, I am wondering if any parents have a child that left for boot on Nov. 16th? And if so, have you received the form letter yet?? I'm starting to go crazy waiting!
