My son joined June 30th, and I am so proud! I was invited by him to see his second swearing in and it was such an honor. He is an older recruit and has been working out with his fellow recuits during DEPS and has become a strong leader. It has been humbling to see him grow as person through the Navy program. What I love is he has a plan for success and looking forward supporting him throughout his time in the service.

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
Proud and nervous. This is what he has wanted to do since high school and I feel him entering at an older age gives him an advantage for success. Nervous cause I know how challenging boot camp can be but based on the dedication I saw, I know he will make it through. I gave him the book "Make Your Bed" as I thought this was a good book with some advice to get through.

Welcome aboard to NavyDads.com Corrine! When my son first enlisted, I was very scared and worried for him. Not coming from a military family at all, I had no idea what to expect. I had soon discovered that he had made the most mature decision of his life! I had lots of questions like I'm sure you do. We will be able to answer most, if not all, of you're questions. Please feel free to ask us anything.
My son Stephen was an AWO2 in the P-3 community. However, after 6 years of service, he was medically discharged in July of 2014. We are so proud of our son and his service to our country. I'm sure you will feel that same pride for you're son or daughter! This is the place to brag!
