What do they do in SCC
Comment by Otto Mueller on June 1, 2009 at 6:08pm
everyone does SCC and it wouldn't surprise me if that rating would do ATT as well

Harry is in IC does that help

Surface Common Core (SCC) training and Apprentice Technical Training (ATT) is a pre-req for those going into aviation schools especially ATT. Usually it will be done at the A school location, but scheduling often dictates otherwise. Great Lakes has the CSCS facility to do both.

Is SCC part of A school?

OTTO - our son's PIR was April 10(Div 154). He is still in GL, finishing SCC this week
and waiting on word for ATT. Then he gets to A school in San Diego. Lots
of steps in the process.

Boy, hope you're right Dave. But what ever the needs of the Navy are, that's what will be. I just sent him a letter asking if he wanted me to bring his cell phone and laptop, in case he could take them with him. When were you at PIR?
Comment by Dave M on May 17, 2009 at 4:36pm
When at our PIR we met a number of parents of PCola bound sailors. Many were grad on Friday and flying South early Monday. (some parents even stayed and got to the airport to hand off laptops and cell phones). OTTO - think you will luck out and get some qual time with your sailor. . .

John is AS. There are alot of possibilities with that rating, so where he goes or what he does is really going to be determined soon. With all the changes in job descriptions over the years, I'm not sure what to expect from that rating. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the rainbow warriors, so I wish Evan all the best. Thanks again , EM.

Evan is an ABE on the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego. He works with the catapult system and arresting gear on the flight deck . He is a green shirt. What is John going to do in the Navy?
