Well dads, today is my last day being home! I leave at 10 am for Cleveland and will be staying in the hotel over night. Then I go to MEPS in the morning and get to see my dad, step mom, and step sisters. My dad has made an account on here and his name is Laron Leake, so please look after him and help him get through this while I can not be here. I appreciate all the advice you have all given me and I will bring that along. I'll post a blog when I get back telling all about my journey!

I myself am leaving for the Navy next week. I will be at MEPS on Tuesday, and Wednesday I'll be at RTC. I am 18 years old and just graduated high school. I decided to join back in January, so that's just what I did :) At first my dad didn't really know enough about the military and would've rather seen me go to college instead. Me being the youngest of 4 and the baby girl, my mom wasn't too thrilled. I am the first of all my siblings to decide to join the military. I am also the first of all my… Continue

Welcome to NavyDads.com Corinne! I'm sure you'll find NavyDads.com as useful, educational and informative as I have. Please explore the site and make some new Navy friends. Be sure to read the discussions add your comments or start a new discussion. Browse through the postings in the various groups or start a new one. I certainly have! If you have any comments, questions or concerns ...be sure to post them! In my experience someone here can answer your questions or concerns or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm blessed to have two sailors in the family - my son Eric (AM3) is stationed on the carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat (MC3) just completed her five-year enlistment on the carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Corinne this is a great place to brag as well! So join in, get active, and be sure to let us know how you are doing! Please remember that we talk about the Navy here and we must keep the security and safety of our sailors and the fleet in mind at all times. On the right side of every NavyDads.com page is an area we call About This Site. Please take a minute and read through the Operations Security (OPSEC) link for some guidelines as to what we should and should not talk about in a public forum like NavyDads.com. And stop by the NavyDads offical store- Navyoutfitters.com! Show your support for NavyDads.com by wearing the latest in NavyDads attire. Best Regards- Paul

Congratulations Corinne! You will soon be off on the acventure of a life time! Welcome aboard to NavyDads! Even though you are a young lady, us dads take pride in our Navy Daughters. Welcome to the fraternity. Good luck at Boot Camp. When my son went through boot, he said "dad, for the first 4 weeks they didn't even know my name. I just kept my mouth shut and did what I was told!" Have your mom and dad join us here so we can support them too. Be sure to write to your mom and dad as often as you can. You can still go to college after the Navy. Do you know what your rate is going to be, or what job you're going for? My son is Aircrew on the P-3 Orion sub hunter. He is in Jacksonville, FL. I see you're in Ohio. I'm in South Bend, Indiana.
Glad your with us! GO NAVY! HOOYAH!
Jim
