Sorry for the delay - I think I told you I don't get on here that much. He seems to be doing well - is in weapons training now and that is going great. He doesn't have an assignment yet, but form what I understand his order will be VA, MS, CA.

You mention in your post that MS is the Riverines - I didn't know that. What is the difference bewteen that group and the guys who got assigned to the riverines after dropping SWCC? I am just learning all this so it is probably a stupid question.

Thanks again for the info - I will keep you posted as the day get's closer.

He just finished BCT yesterday (12 guys left out of the original 50). Starts CQT on Monday.

Is you son done with training?

I have not heard to much about SWCC on this site. Glad you for this site, it is interesting to read comments from all the different Rates, I know nothing about the Military and this is giving me a real education.

Fred, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here and we have been known to brag on them a little. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force 5 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank your son for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet.
