Hi Jeri. You mentioned that we may have met at Flanigans. My son's PIR was May 9th of 2008. It was more than a year ago and it's hard to remember everyone I met. But, none the less, welcome to NavyDads.com! Is your sailor still in Pensacola? Mine graduated from there in June and is now in Jacksonville. He is an AW and will be flying in the P-3.

Hi Jeri, Cannot remember to whom I have written- I'm getting old! PIR was wonderful- It was great to meet you. I see that Mike posted some picts of John- he looked great. All the best to you- you and your husband and whole family will be in my prayers.

Talked to Aidan this afternoon- told me about getting your card - thanks for the support. He says Battlestations should be this Thursday. Good luck and good bless to our kids.

Thanks for everything- the cards and the tip about N4Ms_ I'll def. check it out. We got two brief letters yesterday from Aidan- very positive- I can see the RTC pattern working - he sounds very proud of Div 210.

Jeri, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. Check out some of the other groups and some of the discussions that are going on. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here and we have been known to brag on them a little. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force 5 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank John for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising a fine young man.

My son Aidan is also Div 210. I see that you and Otto are in touch- he has been a great help by sharing info on the progress of our 210-ers. Hope all is well with your boy John and you. PIR will be here before we know it.

Welcome to NavyDads Jeri ! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric just returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat returned last fall from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Jeri this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how John is doing!

As a parent of a sailor currently or soon to be at Great Lakes you'll have many questions about what your son is going through.
