Jim, I wanted to take this moment and thank you for your service to this great country. The sacrifices that you made have not gone unnoticed on this upcoming Veterans Day. It is because of you and others like you that we enjoy the freedoms that we have. I salute you!

Welcome Jim. I was GMG aboard USS Waddell 82-86 based out of San Diego. Now youngest daughter joined Navy this past summer and now waiting to start A School in Pensacola for Aviation Machinist Mate. By the way the USS Waddell is the ONLY US Naval Ship to be named after a Confederate Officer Commander Waddell from Pittsboro, NC. So how does your Son like being a Sonar Tech? Where is he stationed? How long has he been in?

Jim, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad you have joined us. Take some time and look around the site. There are discussions and groups you can get involved with or start one of your own. You can post pictures and brag on your sailor. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love talking about our sailors around here. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is now in Everett, WA. stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank James for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for your service and for raising a fine young man.

Jim thanks for joining. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud navy dads just like myself. Thank your son for his service for me and also, thank you as well. Good luck and thanks again for joining. Sincerely, EG

yeah...tough duty!! Seems my daughter decided Hawaii would be a pretty nice duty station when she was there a couple of weeks ago. Now that the Linclon is back in port (Everett, WA) she is really not looking forward to all the rain. And think positive- Christmas is coming so you'll get to soon see James! Best Regards--- Paul

Welcome to NavyDads Jim! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is a month into a seven-month deployment on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month deployment on the carrier Abraham Lincoln. And Jim this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how James is doing! And Jim- thank you for your service to our great country! Best Regards- Paul
