Just added some photos, hard to believe she's been in the Navy for 3 years, and made Petty Officer since these photos were taken .

Overboard Sailor

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 7:24pm 0 Comments

My Daughter is on The Abe Lincoln, same group of striker ships that the Halsey is in ,where the female Sailor went missing or is overboard, my thoughts and prayers go out to the Sailor and her family. This is a little close to home due to the fact that it is in the same group as my Daughters ship, and I hear that sometimes Sailors go from ship to ship for various reasons, have'nt received e-mail from my Daughter for a few days, can't help but to worry.

Farewell

Posted on July 11, 2009 at 1:24am 3 Comments

When my Daughter Lynette came home on leave she visited the nursing home I work at, there she met Ivis Clay, a 21 year Navy vet, they became fast friends, she came in often to visit with Ivis, they chatted about Navy life, swapped a few stories, and of course he gave her advice. Sadly Ivis passed away about a month after this photo was taken. Lynette, Myself, and our family would like to respectivly thank Ivis for his 21 years of Navy service, rest in… Continue

Johnna, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. I see that you have joined some groups and discussions, I like that jumping in and getting involved. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here and we even have been known to brag on them a little. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank Lynette for her service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising a fine young woman.

Hi Johnna! Lynette enjoyed being off base and hanging out with us for Thanksgiving. I am glad we were able to have her and the other Sailors so to make their holiday better! They had the beach to hang out on, hot tub outside, indoor and outdoor pool, a game room with pool table and fooseball, and a fitness room with machines. I have pictures so I will be downloading them today. It rained on saturday so did not get to do anything but lynette and the rest of the sailors went with my husband to Hooters to watch the Oregon game as we could not get that channel at the condo. So I stayed back with my little grandsons while they all went to watch football! My husband was so happy his Ducks won and beat the beavers! One of the sailors is from Oregon also but 4 hours away near Portland. He was a beaver fan! I actually hope I can do something like this again but have more Sailors! Now we just have to see where our Girls get stationed after school. Well you take care and stay in touch okay. Remember you can copy and paste the pics I put on here so you can have your pics of Lynette. brooklyn has more pics on her camera also. So she will get them to me online. TTYL

Welcome to NavyDads Johnna! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what she is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is almost two months into a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Johnna this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Lynette is doing! Best Regards- Paul
