Mike, you are 100% right. I think my son and I always loved each other but we had the man to man run in's. Now there is so much love and respect between us and the PRIDE that I feel is Heaven like. I am a blessed man. Take good care and tell your son that I say Thank You. Luis

Keep the faith Mike as our girls do surprise us don't they! Kat is a media specialist and writes for and edits the ship's newpaper, the Penny Press...it has been a great learning experience for her for sure!

Welcome to NavyDads Mike! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric just returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat returned last fall from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Mike this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Gene is doing! Best Regards- Paul

Mike, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. I see that you have been busy jumping in and getting involved, I like that. Check out some of the other groups and some of the discussions that are going on. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here and we have been known to brag on them a little. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force 5 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank Gene for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising a fine young man.

Mike, Welcome Aboard! I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Gene for his service for me and thanks again for joining us.
Sincerely,EG
