We finally found out that Craig will be stationed in Lemoore, CA.
He is land based and will be part of the Black Aces. He was happy with these orders.
Now we are waiting to see if he can come home for a quick visit before he travels across the country.
God Bless all your sons and daughters. Praying for their safety.

Carol, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you have joined us. Take a look around the site. Get involved in some of the groups and discussions that are going on. This site is for you to use and enjoy. We love to talk about our sailors around here and we even have been known to brag on them a little. We are also here to support and encourage each other. After all we are all in this together. I have two sons and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. Please thank Craig for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising a fine young man.

Welcome Carol! My wife Cora told me about how your son was flying into Pensacola from GL on wednsday. I hope all has gone well for him his first week and I am sure between the USO and the Galley they had plenty for Thanksgiving. We would have loved to have had your son also however there are phases that the Sailors have to go through before allowed liberty off base and with the timingas close as it was not much we could have done without knowing more ourselves about your Sailor. The calls and messages were unbelieveable on my wifes cell. Her emails were just stacked with requests. We had no idea we would have so many. We wish we could have accomodated everyone. keep in touch on here, keep us informed on how your Sailor is doing, and alway ask questions as we all work together to help each other here. Some one always has an answer, if not we will find it! Tell Craig to sign up on here to once he can get online! We want to hear from our Sailors too!

Welcome to NavyDads Carol ! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is almost two months into a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Carol this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Craig is doing!

As a parent of a sailor currently or soon to be at Great Lakes you'll have many questions about what your son or daughter is going through. Thanks to one of our members we have two excellent videos that you access can from the NavyDads.com main page: New Bootcamp 1 of 2 and New Bootcamp 2 of 2. These videos will answer many of your questions and concerns and will give you a better understanding of how the United States Navy transforms our children into sailors!

Be sure to spend some time in the Bootcamp group- there are many questions and answers available to help you understand what your sailor is going through. And as PIR draws closer, be sure to spend some time going through the PIR-Tips, Hints and Helps group- we’ve tried to assemble some tips and suggestions to make your sailors PIR more enjoyable. Best Regards- Paul
