Alan thanks for getting Josh to join us. One of my visions for this site is for the sailors to be involved as well. They need all the support we can give them. I hope we are making our children proud of us by showing that we want to go through this journey with them all the way. If Josh is willing I would love for him to be involved in Ask A Sailor. Parents can ask questions in this group and sailors answer what they can. Some things they just cannot answer and we understand that. Also the sailors only have so much time to get on a computer so the more sailors we have checking it the better. South Korea (wow) that must be tough my son is headed for California and I thought that was to far from home. Thanks again for getting Josh involved on this site. I'm very honored to have him on here.

Thanks Alan, I appreciate your heart felt thanks and I will pass along your comments to my sons. I know you understand how tough it is on moms. It’s not that easy on us dads either that’s why I like this site we can lean on each other. Josh will be in my thoughts; South Korea is a long way from home. I was stationed in Okinawa and Taiwan for 18 months and that was when Jane and I were engaged. Being away from each other for that long was almost unbearable. Yes, have Josh and Rachel join Navy Dads I think it would help them to be connected to something like this. There is also Navyformoms that might be of some comfort for Rachel. Thanks for the kind words about my boys they gat the good looks from their mom I am not sure what they got from me.

Alan, “Welcome Aboard”. I am glad that you are here with us. Feel free to check out the site, join some groups and maybe start one of your own. This site is for you to use and enjoy. Don’t hastate to ask or answer questions. I have to go along with you on the God, Family and Country issue. Trust me I will not screw with any of those, you being an outdoorsmen, hunter and an avid gun NUT ;-). I also am with you in the proud department, I have two boys and they are both in the military. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago and my oldest joined the Navy and is finishing “A” school. Please thank Joshua for his service from an old Vietnam Vet.
