Hello Glen! I wanted to introduce myself and say hello! You have been a member of NavyDads for quite some time and I may not have had to opportunity to touch base with you. As NavyDads Admin I hope you've found the site as fun and useful as I have. Continue to explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is on the second half of a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat recently returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Glen this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Alan is doing! Best Regards- Paul

Glen, thanks for the prayers. So far so good. We are under a tornado watch but nothing but some gusts of wind and it is raining right now. But after the news that Paul will be coming home tomorrow, Lord willing and the creeks don’t rise, nothing can dampen my spirits. It’s all good. How is Alan doing?

Glen, Wow! seven. I have four. Your a good man! I hope Alan is doing well in bc. My son graduated June 20th. I think their are several parents on this site with children in bc now. It might benefit you and the others to start a bootcamp group. We parents that have just experienced it can answer alot of questions for you guys in it. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I might be able to help. I hope ya'll are doing good. Beleive me it is tough. Emotions go up and down, up and down. These kids are killing us. Keep me posted on his progress.

Glen, You are so welcome, I love this country and even though it was a difficult time in our countries history I was glad to serve. My other son has been in the Air Force for just over four years, he just reenlisted, and he works on the electrical and environmental systems on the f-15. Sounds somewhat like what Alan will be doing. I know what you mean about being proud of Alan. May I make an observation as a Dad of two military boys? At both my boys graduations I cried like a baby. I was so proud of them and watching them starting their military life journeys was just too much but I was not embarrassed at all. I was just so very proud. There nothing wrong in a man showing how proud he is of his children no matter what form it takes. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Glen, “Welcome Abroad”. Thank you for joining our growing community of proud parents. We are all very proud of our sailors as you are. Please take some time to look around the site. Feel free to ask questions and to answer questions. Also get involved with any of the groups or start one of your own. This site is for all of us to use. We are here to support and encourage one another. Do you know what Alan will be doing in the Navy? Please thank Alan for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam vet.
